Abstract

Objective: The present study aimed to develop and validate a model for measuring supply chain management in dairy industries with emphasis on financial factors, integration, and environmental factors in Damdaran Dairy Company.

Methodology: This study was applied-developmental in terms of purpose and exploratory mixed-method in terms of methodology. In the qualitative phase, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 14 senior managers of Damdaran Company and analyzed using open, axial, and selective coding. In the quantitative phase, the statistical population consisted of 610 experts and managers, from whom 236 participants were selected using Cochran’s formula and simple random sampling. The research instrument was a researcher-made questionnaire developed based on qualitative findings and previous studies. Content validity was confirmed using the CVR index, and reliability was verified through Cronbach’s alpha coefficients. Data analysis was conducted using the Kolmogorov–Smirnov test, Bartlett’s test, and structural equation modeling in LISREL software.

Findings: The coding process identified 28 indicators and three main dimensions of supply chain management, including financial factors, integration, and environmental factors. Financial factors consisted of price and production cost components; integration included supplier and customer integration; and environmental factors comprised eco-friendly design, green productivity, and intra-organizational factors. The Kolmogorov–Smirnov test confirmed the normal distribution of data, while KMO and Bartlett’s tests verified sampling adequacy and suitability for factor analysis. Furthermore, all factor loadings in the structural equation model were significant, and fit indices such as GFI, CFI, NFI, and RMSEA demonstrated satisfactory model fit.

Conclusion: The findings demonstrated that supply chain management in dairy industries is simultaneously influenced by financial factors, supply chain integration, and environmental considerations. Reducing operational costs, strengthening collaboration with suppliers and customers, and adopting environmentally friendly strategies can significantly enhance organizational performance and competitive advantage. Therefore, the proposed model can serve as an effective framework for improving supply chain processes and achieving sustainable development in dairy companies.
